Initial Bargaining Demands
Bargaining the first union contract begins with presenting Initial Bargaining Demands to WSU admin. These demands are similar to a mission statement – they are fairly broad and outline the topics that WSU admin can expect us to bring up in more detail. The hope is to have as many people as possible sign on to the Initial Bargaining Demands as possible to ensure that bargaining is started with support from a strong majority of academic student employees. If you haven’t already, please take 30 seconds to sign on to the Initial Bargaining Demands and share this information with your colleagues and friends so we can get strong majority support!
First meeting with WSU Labor Relations
Now that we have a Bargaining Committee, we can hit the ground running negotiating for our first union contract. The first meeting between WSU CASE and WSU LR will be held very soon. We unfortunately do not have a date yet, because we have yet to hear back from WSU LR. Nonetheless, this will be the first of many such meetings. These meetings are open to the public and you are welcome to see how this process works and how your voice is being heard. We will make sure to update you again before the first meeting.
December Monthly Meeting
We will be rounding out this year with the last monthly meeting of 2022 on December 20th @ 12:00pm. We will be discussing the Bargaining Committee and the process of bargaining. So make sure to drop in and stay informed about your union. Register for the meeting here.
Recurring Reminders:
- Fill out the Bargaining Survey! (takes 5-15 minutes)
