March 2, 2023

On Wednesday February 22nd, the WSU CASE Bargaining Committee had our first meeting with Labor Relations (LR) to start negotiating our first union contract. During that meeting we made significant headway in making sure that bargaining proceedings will be fair and transparent. A full summary of the meeting can be found  here on the Bargaining Center page of the WSU CASE website. The next meeting between WSU CASE and LR is scheduled for:
Monday March 6th

This, and all other bargaining meetings, are open to all WSU Academic Student Employees. If you would like to attend and participate in this process, please RSVP here.  Together we can make this process work for us!

Want to learn more about how the bargaining process works? Check out this fact sheet full of useful information.

Looking for other ways to get involved? The easiest way is to take the Bargaining Survey. This survey lets the Bargaining Committee know exactly what is most important to you. It also is an opportunity to inform them of the specifics of what you need out of a union contract.  The survey takes around 15 minutes to complete and can be accessed here. If you’ve already taken this survey, please encourage your colleagues to do so. Respond to this email to get connected to efforts to increase survey participation.

Additionally, there are a number of workgroups drafting proposals on different areas that affect us as ASEs.  These groups include:

  • Healthcare
  • Protections Around Harassment, Discrimination, and Reporting
  • Wages and Fees
  • Transit, Housing, and Parking
  • Workplace Safety
  • International Student Rights
  • Appointment Letters
  • Child/Dependent Care

You can sign up for any of these groups using this form.

Is there a different way you’d like to get involved?  Send an email to contact@wsucase.org.
