January 19, 2024
After a whirlwind 11 months of bargaining and organizing done by ASEs across every department and every campus, we’ve finally reached a Tentative Agreement on all contract articles! This agreement is full of exciting wins and improvements, none of which would have been possible without all of the 1-on-1 conversations with our coworkers, rallies and marches on administration, department meetings, and our strike on Wednesday! We, your ASE bargaining team, are proud to present this agreement to all of our fellow ASEs.
The next step is to determine whether this agreement will become our contract by taking a ratification vote. It is crucial that all ASEs participate in the vote to ratify this contract – when you see your fellow ASEs, ask if they have voted! If a majority of ASEs who participate vote yes, the tentative agreement will officially become our contract. If a majority vote no, our ASE Bargaining Committee will have to return to negotiations with management.
When, How, and Where to Vote to Ratify:
The Ratification Vote is open NOW, Thursday, January 19th as of 10:30 AM, and will close at 5 PM on Thursday, January 25th.
You can find the full tentative agreement and cast your vote using this link: Ratification Ballot.
If you’d like to hear more about the agreement and discuss it with other ASEs, we will be hosting an info session tonight at 5pm via Zoom to go over the wins we’ve made in this contract and answer any questions. Zoom link here!
Strike Pay
If you went on strike on Wednesday and have not yet registered for strike pay, you can now do so online. There will be Zoom sessions today from 12-1pm and 2-3pm where the strike assistance committee can walk through the process (Zoom link here). Please respond to this email if you want to register but cannot make those times!
