If you are receiving this email, you have not yet signed on to the initial bargaining demands! Later this month we will have our first meeting with Labor Relations and in the Spring semester, we will start bargaining our very first union contract with the Washington State University administration. This contract will include a number of different areas that affect our working conditions — including wages, fee waivers, health insurance, childcare, anti-discrimination, and more.

The initial demands outline the general goals of issues we’ll be fighting to improve, not exact contract language. As the contract campaign progresses, the contract language will be developed through a combination of analyzing results from the bargaining survey, further research, additional membership discussion, topic-specific working groups, negotiating with university administration, and other efforts.

As we approach our first bargaining session, it is critical that every single member sign onto these demands. Your participation helps ensure that our collective bargaining agenda is representative of the needs of all WSU-CASE members. Further, your participation — alongside 1,500 fellow members — sends a strong message to WSU administration that our voices must be heard. The faster every person participates, the stronger our collective position will be going into bargaining. Please take a minute to sign on today!
