The affiliation vote is now live! You can find your ballot here:

Ballot – Vote Here

Both our bargaining and organizing committees recommend option 1 as it best suits our needs. See this excerpt from last night’s Monthly Meeting, which goes over considerations for each option. We strongly encourage all ASEs to participate in the vote before it closes at 5 pm on Friday.

This affiliation decision is an important step that will set our union up to create a governance structure that best reflects the values, priorities, and power of our members. Over the coming months, WSU ASEs will be signing up for membership in our union, crafting bylaws, and electing an executive board and department stewards — all while organizing our peers to educate them on the new rights and protections guaranteed under the contract.

Becoming a member is a vote for a better life. Members pay a small amount of wages in dues (1.44% of your gross pay + a one-time initiation fee), that provides our union with the resources necessary to strongly enforce our current contract and bargain stronger contracts in the future. Dues-paying members get to participate in the governance of the union by setting bargaining priorities in the future, voting to ratify future contracts, and nominating/running for office in local and international UAW elections, including in the local executive leadership.

If you’re interested in discussing these questions and decisions further, join us on slack or send questions in to contact@wsucase.org.
